Placing Dynos

Place and remove dynos in game, in the config, or from another resource.

Dynos stand in three ways:

SourceKeptRemoved by
The /dynos placing toolIn the zyke_dyno_dynos table, standing again after a restart. The placing tool.
shared/dynos.luaFor as long as the resource runs.Deleting its entry. See Dynos.
Another resource's CreateDynoUntil that resource stops, or zyke_dyno restarts. That resource. See Create Dyno.

A dyno needs 2.6 metres of room across and 7.2 metres along, ramps included. The car drives on from behind.

#Placing Tool

Run /dynos. Access requires Config.Settings.dyno.admin.permission, checked again by the server for every dyno placed or removed.

A see-through dyno stands on the floor where you aim, within 12 metres of you, with an arrow over its deck the way a car's nose points.

  • Lined up, the default, keeps the dyno to the line across or along the nearest dyno within 30 metres, turned the same way, and moves it along that line in 5 cm steps. The panel shows how far it is from that dyno, so a row of dynos stands square.
  • C switches to free placing and back. Free, the scroll wheel turns the dyno 1° at a time, or 10° with Shift held.
  • Q moves its screen from the left to the right, then leaves it out, then back to the left. Where the screen stands on the left is admin.screen in the config.
  • The left mouse button places the dyno and saves it. A dyno too close to another is refused.

The tool stays out for the next dyno until the right mouse button, Esc, or Backspace puts it away.

#Removing

With the tool out, press Z to switch to removing. The dyno you aim at is marked, and the left mouse button removes it and deletes it from the database. A run on it is stopped. Z again goes back to placing.

Only dynos placed with the tool can be removed this way; others are marked red. Dynos from shared/dynos.lua or another resource are made again when they start.

#History & Saved Dynos

Runs and each character's saved dynos in the laptop app are kept by the dyno's position. A dyno keeps its history as long as it stands on the same spot, so removing a dyno and placing a new one there keeps the old history.
