Capturing & Publishing
Capture, edit, publish, and retrieve vehicle images.
#Open Image Studio
Join with the ACE permission configured in Config.Settings.fullMenuAccessPermission and run /imagestudio. Wait for the hosted library to finish loading before starting a capture.
Use Image Studio on a test server or during maintenance for large batches. Capture sessions isolate the player and vehicle, temporarily control time and weather, and move the player back to the configured safe position when the session ends.
#Choose a Capture Workflow
#Single Vehicle
Select a vehicle model in the Studio to compose one image. Choose the capture presentation, vehicle paint and tuning, framing mode, camera, background, shadow, and output settings before capturing.
#Bulk Vehicles
Bulk capture applies one setup to a model list. Review Config.IncludedVehicleClasses and the common blacklist before starting. Free framing is not available for bulk capture because each model needs repeatable framing.
Start with 5–10 vehicles, then test a batch of about 20 before attempting a full catalog. Use the processing-capacity command if client rendering or uploads cannot keep up.
#Scenery
Scenery captures use a world location instead of the generated backdrop. Select a point on the map or use a saved scenery preset, place the vehicle, then compose the shot with the free camera. Server-wide presets live in Config.Scenery.presets; players can save their own presets from the Studio.
#Compose the Vehicle
The Studio can preview available suspension, wheels, stance, body options, lights, liveries, extras, paint types, indexed colors, custom colors, pearlescent paint, and wheel colors. Preview changes before committing them to the capture setup.
Use adaptive framing for repeatable catalog images, free framing for a manually placed capture rectangle, or the free camera for interior, wheel, dashboard, and scenery shots. The default free-camera presets are configured in Config.Camera.freecam.presets.
#Choose Output Behavior
- Editable retains the reusable source and editor document so the image can be reopened and changed.
- Lean keeps only the finished output.
- Resize Output applies the selected target width while preserving aspect ratio.
- Image Set adds a suffix such as
drafter_dealership, allowing multiple views or styles for one model.
The editor's vehicle percentage changes the amount of the 16:9 canvas occupied by the vehicle. Lower values leave more room for backgrounds, text, and projected shadows.
#Publish and Retrieve Links
Publishing sends the finished artifacts through FXServer to Media Studio. The completion view shows the saved public URL. The gallery can copy URLs, reopen editable images, inspect publish state, retry eligible failures, and recover supported deleted items.
Use /imagelink <model> to inspect every active source and thumbnail URL for one model. The modal can copy selectors such as edited/<model>_sideview.png for zyke_garages and other integrations.
Server resources can retrieve links through the hosted vehicle exports.
#Processing Capacity
Raw capture and final editor rendering run on the capturing player's PC. FXServer CPU count only bounds pending work; it does not move browser image processing to the server.
Run imagestudiocpu medium from the server console as a starting point. Move to min if the client becomes unresponsive, uploads time out, or pending work grows. Use max only after a representative batch stays responsive and completes reliably.
