Towing & Vehicle Beds
Attach vehicles, recover loads, and operate carrier slots.
#Attach a Rope or Cable
- Stop both vehicles and get out. Equip
tow_ropeortow_cablethrough your inventory, or use the matching command. - Aim at the first vehicle's front or rear bumper and use the displayed attach control.
- Walk to the second vehicle and attach the remaining end. Stay within the material's attachment range.
- Enter the pulling vehicle and drive. With a steel cable, hold the winch controls to change its length.
X or right-click cancels an active attachment progress action so you can retry. When no attachment action is running, it cancels carrying. /tow_rope_cancel cancels the carrying flow.
To detach, get out and stand close to the bumper, then use the target interaction or /tow_detach [front|rear]. A manually detached, item-funded connection returns one item. Snapped ropes do not.
#Load a Vehicle Bed
- Use a configured carrier and satisfy its access requirement. By default you need carrier keys. An attached trailer uses its towing vehicle's keys; an unattached trailer needs no keys in keys mode.
- Park the load inside the blue box behind the carrier. Both vehicles must be stopped, and the load must be empty and disconnected from tow ropes.
- Exit the load and open the bed menu with Home or
/tow_bed_loadnear the loading point. - Choose an empty slot. The vehicle must fit the carrier dimensions and that deck's height limit.
Select an occupied slot to unload or move the vehicle. Hover available destinations to preview placement. The carrier must remain stopped and the unloading area must be clear. The default tr2 also requires its rear guard/trunk to be open when loading or unloading.
#Custom Carriers
Add a model under Config.Settings.beds.models in shared/unlocked/config.lua. Set maximum vehicle dimensions and the loading-zone offset, then define a floor offset and rotation for every slot. Use separate Z offsets for multiple decks and set lower-deck height limits to leave room for the deck above. See Config.
